The Fighters Night Book Cover

Abel used to live to fight. But now, he must fight to live.

Abel Dawson, a Black up-and-coming boxer, never expected to find a love more pure than his love for boxing. He also never thought injury and the depression that follows would rip away both his career and his fiancé in double quick time. At his lowest ebb, Abel steps out for a jog to clear his head, only to be hit by a car. When he awakens, he isn’t in a hospital, but instead finds himself in a bland dystopia known as The City.

Trapped in a place with illogical laws of nature, Abel desperately tries to find a way home. Standing in his way is Sovereign, a sadistic tyrant and the new king that overthrew the Old Regime and plunged The City into despair. Severely outmatched, Abel leans on the aid of Valor, the last living Knight of the Old Regime.

While Valor’s thirst for vengeance is enough to charge him in the fight against Sovereign, Abel doesn’t fully buy in until the two learn The City is directly linked to Abel’s

subconsciousness. With the weight of his spiralling life on his back, a Knight at his side and an omnipotent adversary in front of him, the fight against Sovereign becomes directly correlated to rebuilding the life he once had. Otherwise, Abel risks having his life in the real world succumb to the same fate as The City; ruin.
